The Easton Parent Teacher Organization will hold a Christmas Bazaar this Thursday and Friday, Dec. 7 and 8.

This is one of the few PTO fundraisers during the school year.  Each elementary student is given an opportunity to shop for their families, where all items cost $1.

The group is asking for donations of gift bags and bows, along with new and gently used items for the bazaar. (Men’s items are always in demand.) Donations can be left at the elementary office during the school day.  Contact them through Facebook or via email, pto@eastonschools.org.

Senior holiday dinner

On Friday, Dec. 15, the Easton Schools will offer a Christmas dinner with all the fixings for Easton senior residents.

Please RSVP to the elementary school office by Monday, Dec. 11, if you plan to attend: 488-7700.  Lunch will be served at 12:45 and is free of charge.

‘The Christmas Star’

On Saturday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m., the Francis Malcolm Science Center planetarium will present its holiday feature, “The Christmas Star.”

The hourlong presentation offers a both festive and astronomical investigation of the holiday traditions in general and the mystery of the Star of Bethlehem in particular. Enjoy the warm comfort of the star theater to enrich your own holiday spirit this year.

Reservations requested.  Please call (207) 488-5451 or e-mail tricia@francismalcolmsciencecenter.com.

Community Library

On Saturdays the Community Library will be held at the Easton High School Library from 9:30 a.m. until noon, with story time from 10 to 10:30 a.m. geared for toddlers/pre-K to grade 3; children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.

The library will be open to the community for patrons to utilize library services; book loans, use of periodicals and reference materials, Internet and computer access. Patrons may bring their own devices to access the Internet and will be asked to follow existing library rules/guidelines.

This week’s library date will be Saturday, Dec. 9.
