Weather forecasters are suggesting that winter might finally arrive in Maine this weekend with predictions for snow throughout the state.
Rain and then snow is expected to blow into Maine from the southwest on Saturday afternoon, with the heaviest amounts falling in eastern Maine in interior Hancock and Washington counties, which some meteorologists say could get more than 6 inches of snow. Range predictions of 1 to 3 inches and 3 to 6 inches of snow are expected for western interior and far northern Maine, while much of the coast is expected to get at least 3 inches and up to half a foot. Many peninsulas along the immediate coast are predicted to get slightly lower amounts.
