The delicious smell of pizza filled the air at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club as the Oakfield Senior Citizens met for their Christmas party.

With five different selections everyone was able to pick their favorite, with garlic bread on the side. The dessert table was covered with pies, cookies, cream puffs, fudge, jello and candy.

The business meeting was called to order by Pres. Bob Locke with The Lord’s Prayer and Flag Salute.

Christine McPherson from RSVP at the Aroostook Agency On Aging in Presque Isle reported on the successful craft fair in Houlton. George Barrow won the mittens and Betty Burpee won the notepaper that Christine donated.

She also told of help that is available when doing your 2017 taxes next year at the Houlton Higher Education Center. For more info call the United Way in Presque Isle or the Houlton Higher Education Center. She also wants volunteers for the Friendly Visitor program; those interested may call the Agency on Aging in Presque Isle.

Betty Burpee was the 50/50 winner.  There were no birthdays to celebrate in December.

A fun Yankee Swap was held with everyone taking home a nice gift.  Marie Gillotti was number 1, so she had the last chance to pick whatever she wanted from all the gifts.

Attending were: Arlene Friel, Bob and Delores Locke, Marie Gillotti, Mildred Gagnon, Don and Charlotte Marley, Alma Russell, Nacie Fowler, Betty Burpee, Verna Boone, George Barrow, Wannetta Townsend, Sharon Anderson, Berniece Campbell, Iona Nadeau, Kathleen Boutilier, Earl and Lottie Doughty and guest Christine McPherson.

The next meeting will be on Jan. 3, 2018, at the usual time and place.
