CARIBOU, Maine – Burleigh ‘Bill’ W. Craig, Jr., went home into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, December 10, 2017. He was born on June 7, 1950, in Coral Gables, FL, the son of Burleigh and Blanche (Gay) Craig Sr.
Bill graduated from Salem, MA, High School in 1968 and later attended the University of Maine at Orono where he received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. After High School, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed for over three years at Loring Air Force Base. While stationed at Loring, Bill met his wife, Darlene Miller, and they were married on June 12, 1971.
He worked passionately as a mechanical engineer for almost forty years and loved everyone he worked with.
Bill loved serving the Lord by driving the church bus for the children’s and youth ministries of the Caribou Assembly of God Church, and recently had the privilege of serving on the church board.
Bill is survived by his wife of 46 years, Darlene, of Caribou, their children, Danielle and her husband, Paul Pekins, of Westbrook, Devin and Jordan Craig of South Berwick, and their grandchildren, Ava and Ryleigh Craig.
Bill was predeceased by both of his parents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sood and the staff at Aroostook Cancer Care for their compassionate treatment and support during this six year journey with non-hodgkin’s follicular lymphoma.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, December 14, 2017, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover Street, Caribou, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please pay Bill’s grace and kindness forward by loving on the nurses at TAMC Critical Care or the staff at Aroostook Cancer Care.
