LIMESTONE, Maine – Edwin Alan Purvis, 62, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at his home in Limestone. He was born on October 19, 1955, in Ft. Carson, Colorado, the son of Edwin and Agnes (Miller) Purvis.
Edwin attended Fairborn Baker High School in Fairborn, Ohio, and also received an Associate’s Degree as an ITT Technician. Edwin retired after 23 years of employment with Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).
Edwin is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jean (Townsend) Purvis; one son, Alex, of Limestone, ME; one brother, Michael Greene, of London, OH; two sisters, Linda Purvis of Hendersonville, NC, and Mary Procknow of San Marcos, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Evening memorial services were held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017, from the Freedom Church at the Aroostook Center Mall, Presque Isle, with Rev. Ron Howlett, officiating. Arrangements by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
