THOMASTON, Maine – Francis Farley, born April 5, 1947, in Presque Isle, passed away quietly at Sussman House in Rockport, on December 9, 2017, with friends and family by his side. He had fought valiantly against lung cancer, but succumbed to complications of a virulent pneumonia.
He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Yvonne; and a daughter, Colette. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Snell); a daughter, Caryn and her husband, Dennis Cough; grandsons, David and Eric Harjula; and 3 great- granddaughters, Alexis, Jadyne and Bailey; as well as two sisters in Connecticut and a brother in New York.
Francis worked for many years in the shipyard industry in Rockland, and on retirement went into artistic woodworking for which he became well known in the area over the past several years. He will be sadly missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, he requested donations be made to the Pope Memorial Humane Society,
Thomaston, Maine, in his memory. At his request, there will be no funeral, or gathering. A private sprinkling of his ashes will be held with family and his closest friends.
