CARIBOU, Maine — After local police received several calls on Dec. 12 concerning a suspicious person going through vehicles in the city, Officers Chad Cochran and Ricky Pelletier investigated and followed footprints in the snow.

Those footprints led them to Adam Guerrette, 27, of Caribou, whom they arrested and charged with burglary, according to a press release issued Friday by Laura Adams, administrative assistant for the Caribou Police Department.

Adams indicated that the officers spotted Guerrette while they were following the footprints and that the suspect “took off running.” Following a “lengthy foot chase,” the officers caught up to him and arrested Guerrette, she reported.

Several pieces of stolen property were recovered, according to the release.

The officers charged Guerrette with burglary, multiple counts of burglary of a motor vehicle, multiple counts of theft, violating conditions of release, and refusing to submit to arrest.

The release states that Guerrette is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court in February.
