PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Carlisle swim team, a co-op including Caribou and Presque Isle high schools and the Maine School of Science and Mathematics, hosted its second meet of the season Saturday.
After competing at Limestone Community School’s pool on Dec. 9, the squad hosted a meet at the Gentile Hall pool at the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday.
The most recent opponent was Old Town, which managed victories on both the girls’ and boys’ sides.
The Coyotes won the girls’ competition, 95-74. Picking up victories for Carlisle were the 200-yard medley relay team of Abigail Raymond, Emily Stillion, Madelyn Wing and Kyra Thibeault in 2 minutes and 15.24 seconds; Wing in the 200 freestyle in 2:09.42 and in the 100 butterfly in 1:04.99; Thibeault in the 100 backstroke in 1:21.1 and Stillion in the 100 breaststroke in 1:26.52.
The Old Town boys also outscored Carlisle, 97-41. The lone event win for the hosts came in the 200 freestyle relay as James Lau, Chris Parent, Spencer Soucy and Martin Brozman posted the fastest time of 2:05.91.
Carlisle is off until Dec. 30 when the team travels to the University of Maine at Orono to take on the Orono Red Riots at 12:30 p.m.
