Easton churches plan Christmas services

The Easton United Baptist Church will have a Christmas Eve Sunday candlelight service during morning worship at 10 a.m. The church wishes the community a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

The Easton Wesleyan Church will have a morning service with a children’s presentation of a Christmas story at 10 a.m. Later that afternoon there will be a Christmas Eve candlelight communion service at 5 p.m.  All are invited to join.

New Song Church of Easton welcomes everyone to enjoy a Christmas Eve service on Sunday, Dec. 24, at 10 a.m. to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Community Calendars

The Easton Community Celebration Calendars have arrived at the Town Office.  Please pick up your copy (copies) as soon as possible.  There are extras available.   

Library Change

The community library at Easton High School will no longer be open for regular hours on Saturday mornings.  In the future, library services will still be available on an “as requested” basis. To arrange a mutually convenient time, please contact Steve Demaio at 805-2702.

Easton Rec News

The Easton Recreation Department plans the following vacation week activities.

Wednesday, Dec. 27 – Ice skating and pizza, 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. First skating and then lunch at the Pizza Hut buffet.  The fee is $12 for skating and the meal.  Please be sure your child is wearing socks.   

Thursday, Dec. 28 –  Snow tubing at Big Rock (weather permitting), 12:40 to 4:15 p.m. We will head to Mars Hill for an afternoon of sliding.  The cost is $12 for tubing, pizza and soda.  Please be sure your child(ren) is/are dressed appropriately for conditions. It’s going to be a long afternoon if they are cold or wet. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Friday, Dec. 29 – Movie at the Caribou Theatres, 9:10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost will be $6 for a ticket, popcorn and soda.  Concessions will be available for purchase.   

All bus trips sill depart from and return to the Recreation Center on Station Road.
