The Caribou junior varsity girls’ basketball team defeated the Van Buren and Wisdom varsity teams and the Hermon JV team, while falling to the Presque Isle JVs, to begin its season.
The Vikes recorded a 38-24 win over Van Buren and a 33-22 victory over Wisdom to begin their schedule of games. Sage Dubay had 12 points and Brianna Reece 10 against the Crusaders, while the duo had eight and nine points, respectively, against the Pioneers. Alexis Bruso and Renee Stubbs were the other top offensive contributors for Caribou, while Ashley Violette and Brooke Moir provided defensive intensity and strong rebounding.
On Dec. 9, Caribou bested Hermon on the road, 48-18, as Emily Collins scored nine points and Alya Theriault added seven.
Collins tallied eight points in the team’s 41-16 home loss to Presque Isle Dec. 13.
