Five basketball games are planned in the region Wednesday, including a pair of doubleheaders.
Caribou makes the trip north to take on Fort Kent, with the girls’ game beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 7 p.m. The Caribou girls are 5-3 and have handed the Warriors (5-1) their only loss of the season back on Dec. 13. The Viking boys are currently 3-5 and take on a Fort Kent squad which holds a 5-1 mark. The Warriors’ only loss also came at the hands of Caribou Dec. 13.
Shead of Eastport travels to Danforth for games against East Grand. The boys tip off at 5 p.m. and the girls at 6:30 p.m. The Shead boys enter with a 1-5 record and East Grand stands at 2-3. For the girls, the visiting Tigers, the two-time Class D North champions, are 3-3 and the Vikings are still looking for their first win after losing six in a row to begin the season.
Two rivals in southern Aroostook County go at it as the Houlton girls, undefeated at 5-0, play at Hodgdon, which owns a 4-2 record, beginning at 7 p.m.

In wrestling, Caribou joins Calais and Penobscot Valley High School for a four-team meet hosted by Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln beginning at 6 p.m.
Summaries of Tuesday night’s games are as follows:
Katahdin boys 59, Hodgdon 49 — At Hodgdon Tuesday, the visiting Cougars used a balanced scoring attack to pick up the 10-point win over Hodgdon. Hunter Craig led the way for Katahdin with 19 points, while Brody Guiggey added 12 and Cooper Drew added nine.
The Cougars improved to 6-2 and are currently second in Class D North.
For Hodgdon (3-5), Wyatt Foster netted 16 points, while Ethan Carter chipped in 14 and Josh Palmer had eight.
Katahdin led 15-14, 30-28 and 42-37 at the quarter breaks.
Ashland boys 82, Wisdom 62 — The Hornets picked up their first victory of the season at home Tuesday behind Dylan Haley, Baily Clark and Steven Bellanceau, who combined for 76 of the team’s 82 points.
Haley netted 30 points, Clark 26 and Bellanceau 20 to lead the way for Ashland (1-7).
Jack Guerrette scored 30 points for the 2-4 Pioneers.
Central Aroostook boys 73, Easton 38 — The Panthers shook off a sluggish first half and put 49 points on the scoreboard after intermission as they routed the visiting Bears Tuesday.
Ben Thomas scored 19 points and Ethan Pryor came off the bench to add 13 more for Central Aroostook, which won its sixth consecutive game and is now 6-1.
Easton, now 5-4, was led by Colin Sotomayor, who tallied 10 points.

Ashland girls 52, Wisdom 21 — At Ashland Tuesday, the Hornets kept the Pioneers winless behind a balanced offensive attack.
Shelby Stolze paced Ashland with 11 points, while Jamie Poulin tossed in 10 and Morgan Doughy and Amber Chasse nine each. Four other players scored points for the 5-3 Hornets.
“It was a good all-around effort for us, and it’s nice to see so many girls contributing and getting an opportunity,” said Ashland coach Ben Lothrop.
Alyssa Banville’s nine points led 0-6 Wisdom.
Central Aroostook 54, Easton 21 — Freshman Maci Beals connected on five of her team’s 10 3-point field goals as the Panthers downed the Bears in Mars Hill Tuesday.
Beals finished with 17 points, while Kassie Levesque posted 11 and Ashlee Harris three 3-pointers for her nine points. The Panthers (5-2) outscored the Bears 12-0 in the third quarter to put the game away.
