ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Clayton P. Gagnon, 82, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on December 25, 2017.
He was born on April 9, 1935 in Caribou, Maine and graduated from Caribou High School in 1954. Summers were spent at their home on Long Lake, Sinclair, Maine. Clayton was a retired electrician and served in the US Army from 1955 through 1957. He was a Catholic and a member of Holy Cross Church.
In past years, Clayton was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, swimming, and skiing. He served as President of the Lions Club and was also a member of The American Legion. A proud husband, father, and grandfather, Clayton enjoyed spending time with his family.
Clayton was predeceased in death by his father and mother, Nelson J. and Cora (Corriveau) Gagnon, his brothers, Harold and Reginald Gagnon, and his two sisters, Gloria Poulin and Lena Dyer.
Clayton is survived by his wife Marie (Paradis) Rhodes; his son Curtis and wife, Theresa of Tallahassee, Florida; his daughter, Michelle LaVerriere and her husband, Chris of Arundel, Maine; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Clayton will be held in June of 2018 in Caribou, Maine. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
