LARRY A. PRYOR, HOULTON – Larry A. Pryor, 84, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2018. He was born on July 11, 1933, in Houlton, the son of Randolph and Mamie (Gartley) Pryor.
Larry attended Houlton High School. He grew up working for his father on the farm, then did carpentry for Danny Miller, worked as a mechanic for Tingley Bros, drove truck for several companies, farmed his own farm, and finally enjoyed many years working on Miller Farms. He married his beloved wife, Colleen (Hogan) Pryor, in 1955 and they celebrated over 50 years of marriage. Larry will be remembered fondly for his exceptional sense of humor and ability to fix or build about anything. He loved horses, camping with the camper, as well as going to Woods camp with Raymond Wotton and friends, but especially spending time with his family. Larry also attended the Littleton United Baptist Church.
He is survived by five children, Daniel and Carol Pryor of Hampden, Ricky and Sue Pryor of Belerica, Mass., Mark and Ginger Pryor of Littleton, Diane and Peter Winship of Hodgdon and Randy and Jenifer Pryor of Houlton; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty DeWitt of New Limerick and Shirley Ward of Houlton; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Colleen, and a sister, Jean McPhearson.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Nancy O’Neill, the nurses and staff in the TAMC Radiology/Imaging department for their excellent care and for making Larry a “VIP”. A thank you to nephew Brent Dewitt for his many kindnesses.
