PATRICIA ‘PAT’ A. SMITH, LINNEUS – Patricia ‘Pat’ A. Smith, 84, went to be with her Lord, Friday on January 12, 2018, at a Houlton healthcare facility. She was born on November 22, 1933, in Linneus, the daughter of Edgar and Ada (Stewart) Carson.
She learned responsibility at an early age, cooking and cleaning for her family. In 1948 she met Reginald Smith, they courted and were married on June 11, 1949, and she began a family of her own. She and Reginald had six children, Donna, Donald, Wanda, Jonathan, Diane, Phillip, and had several foster children in their house. In 1968 she joined the Nazarene Church of Houlton where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, a steward on the Church Board and Mission Board. When her children were grown she started working at Gardiner Healthcare Facility and eventually she and Reginald kept boarders in their home in Linneus. On June 11, 2017, they celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage. Though her life wasn’t always easy and she had several health issues, she still laughed often and loved much. When she passed into eternity, she had this testimony, “She loved the Lord.”
Friends called at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, where a service was conducted at 11 a.m. with her son, the Rev. Don Smith officiating.
