PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp program will hold a benefit stew night on Friday evening, Feb. 9, from 5-7 p.m. at the Presque Isle Snowmobile Club.
The menu includes chicken stew, tomato soup, beef stew or taco soup, along with a roll, drink, and dessert for $6. Grilled cheese sandwiches may be purchased for an additional dollar each. Carry-out containers will also be available.
The ATLC is a leadership development and drug prevention program of Aroostook Mental Health Services Inc., and serves Aroostook County teens. Anyone in grades 6-8 can attend a five-day residential summer camp program, which will be held this year at the University of Maine at Fort Kent from July 22-26. Participants will learn leadership skills, attend workshops about teen issues, develop positive social skills through structured evening activities, and make lasting friendships.
The teens have opportunities to develop their skills by participating in follow-up activities during the school year, and are encouraged to stay involved for years to come.
