WOODLAND, Maine – Robert H. Prestwood, 83, died on January 21, 2018, at the Presque Isle Nursing Home. He was born in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late Joseph and Mamie (Leatherwood) Prestwood.
He graduated from Chattanooga High School and later attended Husson College. Robert was in the US Air Force stationed on Loring as an aircraft mechanic and worked for 32 years in Civil Service. He was a member of the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion, as well as the Perham Baptist Church. He married Joyce Stubbs on August 20, 1955.
Robert was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family and friends fishing, hunting, and playing this guitar. He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Joyce of Woodland, one son, Robert of Easton, two daughters, Cynthia Privette of Washburn, and Kathy Crosier of Graham, NC, seven grandchildren, Ryan and Sarah Privette, Shannon DeWeaver, Heather Bolduc, Jeremy, and Mark Prestwood, and Bobbi-Jo Williams, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Prestwood was predeceased by two brothers, Adrian and Clifford, as well as a sister, Joyce Marie Utt.
A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring from the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery at a date and time to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
