Are you a cancer survivor? Has cancer affected your life or anyone you know? Ever wanted to do something about it and kick cancer to the curb?
The Aroostook Relay for Life will be held on June 16 this year at the Caribou High School track. This will not be the Relay event of the past. The time has changed; it will be held this year from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m — that’s right, a one-day event. In addition, there will be many other changes happening with different activities planned, hourly themes, and so on. We are so excited for these changes and we would like you to be a part of them.
Please take a few moments and consider forming a team. Maybe you can start one with a local business, family/friends, an organization, a church … and help us fight against cancer. We all know someone who is currently battling this disease, who is a survivor, or who lost their brave battle. If you would like to sign up a team, please visit the Relay web page as soon as you can: www.relayforlife.org/aroostookme. If starting a team is not in the cards, that is OK; please still come out in June and join us for all the fun activities we will have throughout the day. Please invite all the cancer survivors you know to come out and walk the Survivor Lap. We want this Survivor Lap to be the biggest it has ever been.
This Thursday, Jan. 25, we will hold our annual Aroostook Relay for Life kickoff event at 5:30 p.m. at Cary Medical Center in Caribou. We would love to see you attend.
