Several University of Maine at Presque Isle and other students volunteered this holiday season to share some joy by reading aloud to children at the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library. The group gathered in the Children’s Library to read such favorites as “The Polar Express,” “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” Above, Darius Haskell reads to the attentive group. Behind him are, from left, Washburn District High School student Lillian Haskell, Northern Maine Community College student Trevayne Jackson, and UMPI student Chenoa Jackson. Also present to read were UMPI students Katie Patterson and Emma Gogan.
