Charles H. Lockhart

CARIBOU AND HILLSBORO AND FOREST GROVE, ORE. – Charles H. Lockhart, “Charlie”, former Resident of Caribou, Hillsboro, OR and Forest Grove, OR, passed away at his home in Myrtle Creek, Oregon on January 19, 2018. Charlie was born in Caribou, Maine, to Charles G. Lockhart and Frances E. Lockhart on January 15, 1951.
He moved to Oregon in the mid-1960s with his family, and was graduated from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Oregon, in 1969. He was a member of the National Guard from 1970 to 1980. He married his best friend, Ilene Morgan, on October 2, 1971. Charlie had a long career in Tektronix’s chemical engineer-ing department in Beaverton, OR and was a precious metal finisher.
Before moving to Myrtle Creek, OR in 1986, Charlie resided in Forest Grove, OR where he worked as a Tow Truck Driver and volunteered at the Forest Grove Fire Department. After moving to Myrtle Creek, he served on the Tri City Rural Fire Protection District #4 Board from the 1990s until his death on January 19, 2018. Charlie was an avid boater, camper and water skier and loved to work on DIY home projects.
Charlie was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Mary Frances; brother, Christopher; mother, Frances; and father, Charles. Charlie is survived by his wife, Ilene, of 46 years; daughters, Marci Lockhart-Andrada (her fiancé Rich Codington), Jennifer Lockhart-Hammond (husband Cody Hammond), Amy Lockhart-Berner (husband Josh Berner); his grandchildren, Morgan Andrada, Jacob Andrada, Brandon Hammond, Caden Hammond, Cyana Berner and Hannah Berner; his sisters, Candace Schryver (husband Doug), Linda Hamilton (husband Bruce), Claire Lockhart (husband Dave Pullum) and Lisa Lockhart; and many other extended family members and his little dog, Timone.
Charlie’s family would like to extend sincere thanks to the Tri City Fire Department for their support, to Dr. Weese and the staff at the Roseburg Cancer Center and Charlie’s hospice nurse, Angie. The family would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and love. Charlie was loved very much and will be greatly missed. “To the world he was a man but to Our Family he was the World.”
The Tri City Fire Department led a procession through Tri City on Jan. 27, 2018. A Celebration of Life was held after the procession.
