FRIENDSHIP and MARS HILL, Maine – Lucy E. Folts, 77, passed away on Saturday morning, January 27, 2018, at Marshall Health Care Facility in Machias. She was born on March 1, 1940, in Castle Hill, the daughter of Alonzo and Leola (Richardson) Ellis.
Lucy graduated from Mapleton High School in 1958, Eastern Maine General Hospital nursing in 1961, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in professional studies from Unity College in 1979. She worked as a registered nurse for The Aroostook Medical Center for 20 years, Houlton Regional Hospital, and then at Caribou Adult Education.
She is survived by a son, Benjamin Redman and his wife, Karen, of Machias; three daughters, Tonya Pinette and her husband, Scott, of Mars Hill, Evangalyn Gadbois and her husband, Tom, of Alfred, Sabrina McLaughlin and her husband, Tim, of Friendship; two brothers, Sheldon Ellis and his wife, Kathy, of Presque Isle, Rinaldo Ellis and his wife, Kathy, of Bangor, a sister, Ruth Kirby of Anton, TX, fourteen grandchildren, 24 and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Daniel Folts, and a sister, Rebecca Alley.
Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 3, 2018, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. with Corey McLaughlin officiating. Spring interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
