FORT KENT, Maine — The University of Maine at Fort Kent is preparing for the region’s popular jam session and house party for music lovers at its annual Fiddlers’ Jamboree on Sunday, Feb. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. in UMFK’s Fox Auditorium.

The event is open to the public. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults; children ages 12 and under may attend free.

The jamboree brings together local talent of the St. John Valley, across the state, and Canada for an afternoon of impromptu performances. Rising stars, as well as seasoned veterans, take their turn. The event is an opportunity for people to strut their stuff whether they play an instrument, sing, or dance.

Last year’s event drew more than 50 entertainers. Attendance at this successful event continues to grow with peoples’ feet stomping and cameras rolling, UMFK organizers said.
