NEW SWEDEN, Maine – Timothy Jay Collins, 66, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 30, 2018, at Cary Medical Center in Caribou. He was born September 7, 1951, in Lynn, MA., the son of Richard W. and Muriel (Duncan) Collins.
He worked many years as a self-employed carpenter. He excelled in his carpentry skills once he moved to Maine, where he helped his mother and siblings restore a camp on Little Madawaska Lake after his father had passed. Timothy acquired many friends and his wife, and raised his two children at the lake in which they enjoyed many moments of swimming, boating, bonfires, and cookouts.
He is survived by a son, Jeremy Collins of Denver, CO.; a daughter, Elsa Collins of Westmanland; four brothers, Bruce Collins of Hancock, Donald and Michael Collins, both of Lovell, and William Collins of Conway, NH.; a sister, Kathy Hopkins of Newton, NH.; a granddaughter, Peyton Jennings of Westmanland; and the mother of his children, Debora Johnson of Caribou; and the grandmother of his children, Margaret Johnson of Westmanland. He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Richard Collins Jr.
