PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Youth are invited to participate in a basketball skills competition sponsored by the Maine Recreation and Parks Association and the Maine Red Claws.
The local Hotshot competition will be held at the Sargent Family Community Center Sunday, Feb. 25, beginning at 3 p.m.
Youth are encouraged to practice during any open gym time offered between now and the competition date.
Age divisions are 9-10, 11-12 and 13-15 and girls and boys will compete separately.
The event consists of three one-minute rounds of play, with different points awarded for successful shots from each of the five spots marked on the floor. The top three boys and girls in each age division advance to the regionals, which will be held in Caribou on March 1.
