HOULTON, Maine — On March 7, 1918, Katahdin Trust opened its doors for the first time in Patten. To mark the occasion of its 100th anniversary, the bank has planned a weeklong celebration at all 16 branch locations throughout the state.
The week of March 5-9, branches will feature refreshments and prizes, including a daily drawing.
“We are very proud of the vision our founders had in mind when they established a small community bank in Patten 100 years ago,” said Jon J. Prescott, Katahdin Trust president and CEO.
“As I reflect on our centennial milestone, I am filled with gratitude for all that we have accomplished, the journey we have taken, and the plans we have for a successful future,” he said.
Since the opening of its first branch in 1918, the bank has expanded its services throughout the state. In addition to serving all of Aroostook County, its growth in the greater Bangor and Portland regions has been noteworthy.
“We feel privileged to be part of all the areas we serve and are indebted to our customers and our employees for our success,” Prescott said. “While many things have changed over the past 100 years, the commitment to assist our fellow neighbors has not.”
All 16 branches plan a weeklong celebration for customers and friends to enjoy.
