HHPR Pet of the week (week of February 21, 2018)

Brutus is a huge, shorthaired tiger male, about 3 years old, who has lived most of his life within a feral colony in Caribou but is now safe in a Halfway Home Pet Rescue foster home. He spends most of his time hiding in his carrier, which he figures is his safe place for now. The door is left open for him. His appetite is healthy. He has had several frostbite injuries, having lost most of one ear with minor damage to the other. He has been neutered and will undergo an intensive dental surgery due to fractured and missing teeth. Brutus will be a good “ole boy” once he has recovered from his dental work and will want a nice quiet home, as loud noises scare him. A country home with a mouse problem would be good for him. He tested FIV positive, so HHPR will review applications to place him in the right environment. He will remain in foster care for about another two or three months.   (Courtesy of HHRP)
