WATERVILLE, Maine — The North Atlantic Conference all-conference women’s basketball teams have been released, and three Husson players have been recognized by the coaches, including junior Kenzie Worcester of Washburn.
The selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches.
Worcester, a junior guard, was named to the first team and is leading the Eagles’ in every category accept for rebounds and blocks. She has surpassed the 1,000-career point mark and currently sits fifth all-time with 1,311 points.
Worcester is the fastest player in the women’s program history to score 400 points in a single season, while sitting five points from 500. She is one of three players in the nation to make 20 free throws in a single-game this season, most in a game in program history.
She leads the NAC in field goals and free throws made and is averaging 19 points per game, which is ranked 40th in the nation. Her field goal percentage is 47.9 and she is 39.7 percent from 3-point range.
In January, she was selected as a NAC, state and New England player of the week. Worcester earned her third all-conference nod, becoming the third player in program history to earn three such honors in their Husson career.
Teammate Sami Ireland made the second team and Anna MacKenzie earned a spot on the sportsmanship team.
