WELLS, Maine — Maine State Police arrested Alan Dziob, 37, of Limestone on the Maine Turnpike Monday morning, charging him with six drug trafficking offenses, according to a press release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Police indicate Dziob had “several thousand dollars” worth of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and suboxone in his vehicle, along with his 12-year-old son and the family dog.

The release states this was the second time in less than a week that Dziob’s vehicle was “stopped for drug-related purposes.” Dziob’s girlfriend, Krystle Buchiere, 35, of Limestone, was stopped while driving his vehicle in Litchfield on Thursday night.

Police reported finding illicit substances, though they were not identified in the release.. Because Buchiere and Dziob were traveling with a 5-year-old child and dog, the troopers summoned the couple after seizing the drugs, according to the release.

McCausland said Tuesday that Buchiere was charged with operating under suspension on Thursday, and that Dziob was summoned on outstanding warrants that were “unrelated to the drugs.”

On Monday, however, troopers arrested Dziob and transported him to the York County Jail. His dog was taken by an animal control officer and state troopers drove the 12-year-old boy 330 miles north to Limestone. Both children are currently staying with Buchiere in Limestone, according to McCausland. He said Tuesday he was unsure where the dog was but that he was sure it “will be returned home.”

On both occasions, state police stated that the vehicle was “returning from another New England state.”

As of Feb. 27, Dziob remained in York County Jail.
