Houlton senior guard Kolleen Bouchard and Presque Isle senior guard Emily Wheaton have both been named finalists for the 2018 Miss Maine Basketball Award.
The announcement was made Tuesday morning by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) and local Maine McDonald’s owner/operators.
The third finalist is Page Brown of Boothbay.
The Mr. Basketball finalists are Taylor Schildroth of George Stevens Academy, Ian McIntyre of Hampden Academy and Terion Moss of Portland.
The six finalists will be honored and the two award winners will be announced at the Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star Awards Banquet on Friday, March 9, at the Anah Shrine Hall in Bangor.
The state’s highest high school basketball honor recognizes a player’s performance on the court as well as the individual’s contribution to the team and to basketball in the state of Maine. The award winners are chosen by a committee of former high school coaches, current college coaches and members of the media throughout Maine.
The top-10 semifinalists for both boys and girls were announced last Wednesday.
