BOSTON, Massachusetts – James P. Lawrence unexpectedly passed away on July 25, 2017, at his residence in Boston, MA. He was born on February 8, 1943, in Hartford, CT, son of Gerald W. and Mary E. Lawrence.
Jim was a 1961 graduate of ACI, Mars Hill, and was a 1965 graduate of the University of Maine in Orono. He worked many years in the banking business in his beloved, adopted city of Boston. Upon his retirement, he greatly enjoyed photography, reading, and spending summers in Bordeaux, France. He also enjoyed his travels to England, Germany, and Italy.
Jim was predeceased by his father, his grandparents, James and Ellen Lawrence of Mars Hill, and his grandmother, Mildred Willard-McShea of Mars Hill.
He is survived by his mother who resides at Southern Acres, Westfield. He leaves behind his best friend and cousin, Gail Fernandez, of Hampden, and several other cousins. Jim also leaves behind many friends from stateside and world over.
A celebration of James’ life will be held in the spring at King’s Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. All arrangements have been completed by Burke Funeral Home, Wellesley, MA.
