PI hockey players and coach gain league recognition

Coach Carl Flynn and five of his Presque Isle varsity hockey players were recognized by the Class B North Hockey Association on Feb. 26.

Flynn was named coach of the year. He led the Wildcats to a 12-6 regular season record and the No. 3 seed in the ‘B’ North playoffs.

Thomas Patenaude, a junior wing, was named a second team all-star. He netted 13 goals and had 11 assists during the regular season.

Junior center Jake Stevens made the third team following a regular season in which he scored nine goals and had a team-leading 18 assists.

Junior defenseman Torey Levesque received honorable mention. The captain chalked up three goals and six assists on the season.

Freshman Colby Carlisle made the all-rookie team after accumulating nine goals and 13 assists. Classmate Gage LeTourneau (10 goals, 11 assists) made the academic all-star team.
