DONALD G. HARDING, NOKOMIS, FL – Donald G. Harding of Nokomis, Florida, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. He was born on January 24, 1931, in Bridgewater, Maine, to Robert and Pansy (Williams) Harding.
He graduated from Bridgewater Classical Academy and Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, MA, where enjoyed singing in the A Cappella Choir three years. He met Marie Hutchins there and they were married on September 11, 1954.
They were active members of the Wesleyan Church in Houlton, ME. He was a board member 33 years, led their first choir, and was a vocal soloist. He built and installed the first sound system in the church and in the district conference tabernacle.
Donald and Marie were employees of the State of Maine until they retired in 1987. He was an officer of the Southern Aroostook Chapter of the Maine State Employees Assoc. and on the state council of M.S.E.A.
Donald and Marie flew their first single engine airplane and he enjoyed photography in the plane and on the ground.
Upon retirement they moved to Nokomis, FL, and continued to enjoy singing in the Nazarene Church Choir and Spanish Lakes Choral Group and sightseeing in their plane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and older brother, Robert.
Survivors include his wife, and two sisters, Ruth Black and Mary (John) Young, and nieces and nephews.
