BLAINE, Maine — A female teenager avoided serious injuries Thursday after rolling over a car on U.S. Route 1.
The 16-year-old from Blaine was traveling south on U.S. Route 1 shortly after noon when she lost control of the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt sedan she was driving, Sgt. Jeffrey Clark of the Maine State Police Troop F barracks said in a press release.
The vehicle skid off the right-hand side of the road, struck a frozen snow bank, and rolled onto the passenger side, coming to rest against a utility pole, Clark reported.
The sergeant said snow and slush covered roads contributed to the cause of the crash. The sedan sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene by Brewer’s towing. The driver was alone in the vehicle and sustained only minor injuries.
No charges were expected to be filed in the incident. The name of the driver was not released because she is a juvenile.
