PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Would you like to learn about the geological wonders of our western National Parks or Life on the Ohio and Maine frontiers, or how to meet your ancestors? During the upcoming SAGE (Seniors Achieving Greater Education) spring session at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, you could learn about these and much more.

Courses for fun will include Television: the Exciting Early Years, How Color Affects Us, Games, Games and More Games, and Let’s Go to the Movies.

Ever wanted to learn how to knit, read music, play chess, the basics of conversational French, or even how to use your iPhone or iPad, or to make simple home repairs?

Ever wanted to try a new creative art? How about Creating a Keepsake Box, Paper Making: a Bit of History and a Bit of Fun, or even how to Create a Trash to Fashion Show Entry.

How about a field trip? SAGE is offering trips to a Goat Farm, the McAdam Railway Station and to Wind Angel Farm. A number of excursions are also offered by the SAGE Outing Club.

SAGE welcomes intellectually curious adults, age 50 and above, with a desire to learn in the company of people with both shared and different perspectives in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere, to discover new ideas about the world and themselves. There are no grades and no tests.

Membership in SAGE is $22 for the spring session. Courses are free for members, though some hands-on courses and excursions have additional fees. Full or partial scholarships are available. SAGE Share a Ride offers transportation to members by members.
