CARIBOU, Maine — The City of Caribou Events and Marketing Department has announced that Cary Medical Center and Pines Health Services have stepped up to support the 3rd annual Caribou Marathon, and together will represent the Platinum Sponsorship.

Check presentations took place March 6.

The Caribou Marathon will in turn support the Cary/Pines Camp Adventure project, an initiative offering safe, exciting outdoor experiences for children living with type I diabetes. The educational adventure helps children conquer the challenges of living with diabetes through self-management and an active lifestyle.

“We are excited to be part of this community-enriching event and we are so happy to have the marathon’s support for Camp Adventure,” said Kris Doody, RN, Cary CEO. “Together we are making strides to support the quality of life in the County and teaching children that diabetes doesn’t control you; you control diabetes.”

Christina Kane-Gibson, director of Caribou’s Events and Marketing Department, added, “I absolutely love working with the Cary/Pines team, You will never meet a group with more heart, dedication and passion for wellness. Plus, we have a ton of fun planning and executing this important event.”
