LIMESTONE, Maine — The interim town manager notified Select Board members on March 21 that he had to cancel their regularly scheduled meeting for that evening.
Limestone Police Chief and Interim Town Manager Stacey Mahan said Wednesday afternoon that he would not be able to attend the meeting due to a family medical emergency. He did not elaborate on the emergency.
The meeting would have been the first with newly elected Selectman Patrick St. Peter, who won a special election on March 20.
The meeting was rescheduled for Wednesday, March 28, according the town’s newly launched Facebook page.
Items on the agenda for the 6:30 p.m. meeting include the announcement of a new employee, a public works equipment update, and an executive session regarding “town manager applications.”
According to the town’s official results for the March 20 special election, residents cast 90 votes for St. Peter and 53 for Paul C. Durepo. Another four write-in votes were submitted for other candidates.
The special election was held only to fill one seat after former Chairman Stephen Beaulieu’s departure earlier this year.
