PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department is offering a two full lifeguard courses. The one set for April 28-29 has a registration deadline of April 6 and the other, offered May 19-20, has registrations closing May 4.
Participants must be 15 years of age by the end of the course to be eligible. This is a blended learning class and online work must be completed prior to first class. The cost is $175 for Presque Isle residents and $225 for non-residents.
Two lifeguard recertification courses will take place April 8 (March 30 deadline) or June 3 (May 25 deadline). Participants must have current or recently expired lifeguard certification. The cost for the course is $80 for residents and $130 for non-residents.
A Water Safety Instructor (WSI) course will be offered June 25-29, with registration ending on June 15. Cost for Presque Isle residents is $200 and for non-residents $250.
A Basic Water Safety course for daycare providers will be held on May 6, with registrations ending on April 27. Cost for Presque Isle residents is $30 and for non-residents $80.
