LITTLETON, Maine — Residents approved a $493,797 municipal spending plan during the town’s annual meeting March 19. That budget marks an increase of about $7,000 over last year’s figure.

Town Manager Lori Schools said the reason for the budget increase was due to an additional appropriation of $5,000 to the town’s fire department and an $1,800 increase to the contract for ambulance services.

“It is the first time in nine years that there has been an increase for the fire department,” Schools said.

Paul Jacques was re-elected for another term on the town’s Board of Selectmen with 26 votes. He ran unopposed for the seat.
