PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle High School Jazz Band and Jazz Combo recently traveled to Nokomis for the Maine State Jazz Festival.
Both ensembles received an Honorable Mention for their performances at the weekend event.
In the Jazz Combo, Andre Daigle and Wyatt Fullen each received a “I” rating for their exceptional solos on trombone and bass guitar, respectively.
Daigle also earned the Outstanding Musicianship Award for his performance on the trombone.
In the Jazz Band, Josh Baldwin and Torey Levesque each received a “I” rating for their exceptional solos on guitar and drums, respectively.
In addition, Baldwin won the Dale Huff Outstanding Musicianship Award, the highest award bestowed on a musician, for his performance on guitar.
