ST. AGATHA, Maine — St. Agatha is now accepting reservations for its Municipal Marina’s first season in operation.
The Town of St. Agatha Municipal Marina (TSAMM) is a 14-slip docking system located behind the Town Office at 419 Main Street. Twelve of its 14 slips will be available for rental on a first-come, first-served basis and can only be reserved by full payment of the selected rental duration, a current state of Maine watercraft registration, proof of insurance and the signing of the TSAMM contract.
The two additional slips are available to public access with a maximum parking time of two hours.
The marina season begins May 15 and runs through October 1.
“We are excited to offer this service to water enthusiasts from near and far,” Town Manager Aubrie Michaud said. “Marina parking will also provide direct access to the Town Office and the gazebo behind the Town Office. It’s also within walking distance to our Fitness Center and the park which offers an assortment of playground equipment and a walking trail. Park your boat after your day enjoying beautiful Long Lake and take advantage of some of the other awesome things our Town provides.”
The newly opened Roy’s Variety LLC in Saint Agatha has agreed to provide fuel to customers who need it while using TSAMM, and the Lakeview Restaurant is exploring options to provide pickup and delivery services.
“This is becoming a community venture unlike anything I ever expected,” said Michaud. “This level of community support and local cooperation is just another reason to come to St. Agatha.”
The dock area includes a bench for sightseeing and leisure, which was donated by former Town Manager Gary Picard before his retirement. Anyone wanting to donate additional benches and/or picnic tables with plaques in the memory of a loved one or anonymously can contact the town office for more information.
The docks will be open to the public from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Slip renters will observe the hours from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. as “quiet hours,” but will have access to their slip at all times.
