
WASHBURN, Maine — Washburn District School’s Destination Imagination teams had a successful showing at the state DI competition, achieving first-, second- and third-place awards.
The high school Improv Team won third place at the event, held March 24 at Bangor High School. The team members are Paul Tardie III, Julia Dahlgren, Hannah Boddy, Patrick Tardie II, Ashton Henry and Megan Farley.
The middle school team won second place in the Fine Arts Challenge. Team members are Aaron Skinner, Natalie Charette and Abbie Easler.
The high school Scientific Team won first place and will move on to the global competition next month. The team members are Julia Dahlgren, Paul Tardie III, Brianna Jernigan, Jillian Mandeville and Jayden Harris.
The DI Global Finals will be held May 23-26 in Knoxville, Tenn. The team has several fundraising activities planned over the next few weeks and is also accepting donations.
