Portage plans May 16 special town meeting

Portage Lake will hold a special town meeting on Wednesday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building.

Officials urge all members eligible to vote in town affairs to attend. Voters will approve money for scholarships, approve the application process for Community Development Block Grants, and approve financing for continuing repavement of West and Cottage roads.

The regular monthly meeting of the Portage Lake Board of Selectpersons will be held the same night at 7 p.m., following the special town meeting.

Summer museum

The Portage Lake Historical Society will honor the Portage Lake Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary this summer with a mini-museum at the Municipal Building.

At this time society members are accepting any and all donations of items to be used for the display, including photos, stories and memorabilia. Please label items with details and identification, and drop them off at the Portage Lake Town Hall.

The mini-museum will run from June to Labor Day Weekend.
