PATRICIA J. CYR, BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – Patricia J. Cyr, 77, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Care One Rehabilitation Center in Bridgewater, NJ. Born and raised in Houlton, Maine, to the late Louis and Jeannette Hogan, she is formerly of New Providence before moving to Berkeley Heights. She was a graduate of Maine School of Practical Nursing in Presque Isle, Maine, in 1960 earning a degree in Nursing. Right after graduation she started her nursing career at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, working in the maternity ward. It was while living in Summit where she would meet her future husband who moved from Maine to New Jersey as well. After many years of staying home to raise her family she returned to the nursing career she loved so much at Berkeley Hall Nursing Home, in Berkeley Heights, NJ, and eventually Berkeley Heights Convalescent Center before retiring in 2007. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Patricia was a parishioner of Little Flower Church in Berkeley Heights, NJ.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Peter Cyr, and siblings, Theresa Hogan and Louis (Billy) Hogan.
Patricia leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Jean Marie Rueda and husband, Henry, Paul Cyr and wife, Daria, and Jennifer Parisaca; grandchildren, Catherine and Joey Rueda, Nathaniel and Joshua Cyr, and Christopher and Faith Parisaca. Patricia also leaves behind her siblings Carol Cottle of Houlton, Maine, Jerome Hogan of Bangor, Maine, Pauline Folsom and husband, Ken of Houlton, Maine, and Leo Hogan and wife, Cathy of Houlton, Maine. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews including her husband’s family and countless friends.
Visiting hours were held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers were said at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. mass at Church of the Little Flower in Berkeley Heights. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Berkeley Heights.
