Perham taxpayers need to fight proposed MSAD 45 budget hike

To the editor:

The Town of Perham is facing an unparalleled property tax increase from MSAD 45’s “preferred budget.” The local cost to the taxpayers of Perham is set to increase $67,147.82. This equals an increase in our taxes of 27.66 percent.

An informational meeting with the residents of the school district (Perham, Wade, Washburn) will be held at 6 p.m. on May 3 at Washburn Elementary School. It is imperative that every taxpayer attend this meeting to avoid a massive tax increase.

Perham’s elected officials cannot fight this increase without the support of residents of the town. Please make every effort to attend this very important meeting.
