The Presque Isle baseball team and Fort Fairfield softball team logged their first victories of the season Tuesday. The Wildcats bested the Houlton Shiretowners, while the Tigers topped the Wisdom Pioneers.
Summaries of Tuesday’s three baseball and three softball games are as follows:
Baseball
Presque Isle 13, Houlton 9 — The Wildcats scored 11 of their 13 runs in the first three innings and held off a late charge by the Shires to win for the first time this season after opening with four consecutive losses.
Jonah Hudson started on the mound for Presque Isle and also joined Torey Levesque in leading the offense. Hudson and Levesque both stroked three singles and combined to score seven runs.
Pat Howe and Nick Brewer logged two singles each for Houlton. Nick Perfitt took the pitching loss.

Fort Kent 8, Central Aroostook 6 — Eden Paradis’s three hits and Jake Daigle’s two-run homer lifted the Warriors past the Panthers in Fort Kent Tuesday.
Daigle, Camden Jandreau and Josh Soucy all collected two hits for the Warriors. Soucy was the winning pitcher, allowing one run over the first five innings.
Ben Thomas cracked a two-run homer for the Panthers and had two other hits. Caleb Harris was CA’s other repeat hitter.
Fort Fairfield 15, Wisdom 0 — The Tigers produced a huge scoring rally in the first inning and went on to blank the Pioneers Tuesday at Fort Fairfield.
Five pitchers combined on the shutout, with Colby Langner, Malcolm Langner, Liam McNamee, Chris Gill and Kobe West all contributing on the mound.
Dawson Watson doubled and singled and Lorenzo Viano singled for the Tigers, while Mason Sirois’ two singles paced Wisdom at the plate.
Softball
Houlton 10, Presque Isle 8 — The Shires came back to beat the Wildcats thanks to a big rally in the bottom of the sixth inning Tuesday in Houlton.
Victoria Forbush and Aspen Flewelling both ripped run-scoring doubles during a five-run outburst as the Shires erased a two-run deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning. Carolyn Mooers collected two hits for the Shires.

Rebecca Rider blasted a three-run home run over the left-field fence in the top of the first inning as part of a seven-run outburst to start the game for the Wildcats. Rider finished with two hits, while teammate Savannah Rodriguez also had two hits for Presque Isle.
Fort Kent 6, Central Aroostook 5 — The Warriors rallied in the fifth inning behind RBIs by Alisha Guimond, Sylvie Guimond, Riley Sibley and Jordan O’Leary in a come-from-behind victory over the Panthers in Fort Kent Tuesday.
Macey Thibodeau earned the pitching win and Caitlyn Harris took the loss.
Fort Fairfield 19, Wisdom 4 — The Tigers spotted the Pioneers a 3-1 lead early but came back to defeat the Pioneers for their first victory of the season Tuesday in Fort Fairfield.
Makaila Beck knocked a pair of doubles in Fort Fairfield’s 11-hit attack. The game was called after 4-1/2 innings due to the run rule. Sara Edgecomb was the winning pitcher.
Cassandra Boucher hit an inside-the-park homer to lead the Pioneers’ offense.
