WASHBURN, Maine – Gertrude J. Howard, 90, passed away on May 11, 2018. She was born in Grand Falls, NB, Canada, on July 25, 1927, the daughter of Harold and Beatrice (Jenkins) Watters of Plaster Rock, NB, Canada. She married George Howard Sr. and moved to Washburn in 1946.
Mrs. Howard is survived by her three children; son, Gary Howard and companion, May Rivard, of Washburn, daughter, Jane and her husband, Jack Metzner, of Oak Run, CA, and son, George Howard Jr. of Washburn; four grandchildren, Timothy Howard and wife, Kidist and their son, Daniel, of Washington, DC, Elizabeth Moehlen and her husband, Martin and their son, William, of New Orleans, LA, James Metzner and his wife, Jill, and their children, Ashton and Jack of Las Vegas NV, Julie Valpoon and her husband, Travis and their daughter, Alyssa, of Oakland, CA; sister, Carolyn Martin of Amherst, NS, Canada; and a special niece, Linda Wishart of Moncton, NB, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and her sisters, Doreena Wishart and Anna Watters of Plaster Rock, NB, Canada.
Mrs. Howard loved her flowers, knitting, and crossword puzzles. She will be missed by all her loved ones. At her request, there will be no memorial service. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
