EASTON, Maine – Irene Shorette Whittaker, 90, passed away on May 17, 2018, at the Aroostook Health Center, Mars Hill. She was born on December 8, 1927, in Ashland, the daughter of Joseph and Phoebe (Boucher) Shorette.
Irene was born into a large family and resided in Easton for many years. She became a CNA and worked at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill for over 20 years. She was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother, and she always had everyone’s best interest at heart.
She is survived by her seven children, Darrell, Steve, Doug, Scott, Cindy, Dennis, and Diane, and many grandchildren.
Irene was predeceased by Frank Whittaker and all her siblings.
Friends called at 12 noon on Monday, May 21, 2018, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, where a funeral service was held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Larry Sullivan, officiating.
