AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Office of Tourism will hold eight meetings around the state the week of June 4-8 to roll out the regional results from the 2017 DestinationNEXT tourism-readiness assessment, conducted for MOT by Destinations International.
One session is slated for Aroostook County on Tuesday, June 5, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Caribou Inn & Convention Center.
Paul Ouimet, Destinations International’s managing director of DestinationNEXT, will share results of the 2017 assessment, focusing on Aroostook County tourism.
Each session will be approximately 2.5 hours in length. Attendees at the 2017 assessment meetings and those who participated in the survey for their regions are particularly encouraged to attend, to hear how the region evaluated itself, to ask questions and to hear Ouimet’s recommendations regarding where the region should focus its efforts to advance tourism and gain more visitation.
Ouimet has successfully delivered strategic plans and tourism master-plans for destinations and destination-marketing organizations (DMOs) around the world. During the past three years, he has led the team that developed and delivered DestinationNEXT.
