The Mapleton Memorial Day Parade will start lining up at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 28, on the Dudley Road. The parade will step off promptly at 2 p.m.
Please keep in mind this is a community parade. All organizations, groups and individuals who would like to march in the parade are welcome to join in during the line-up. To join, simply come to the Dudley Road at the end of Main Street and step in. No reservation is necessary.
Remembrance ceremony
The Mapleton Remembrance Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 28, at the Mapleton, Castle Hill and Chapman Veterans Memorial Monument at the Mapleton Elementary School.
The ceremony will begin 15 minutes after the end of the Memorial Day Parade. The ceremony will include patriotic songs, the presentation of the colors, the placing of wreaths on the monuments and the playing of “Taps” to conclude the event.
The ceremony is expected to last approximately 30 minutes. Everyone is welcome to attend and remember the sacrifices of the veterans from the three towns.
Town office closed
The Mapleton, Castle Hill and Chapman Town Office will be closed for Memorial Day. The office will be open for normal services on Tuesday following the holiday.
Recreation waitlist
Parents may still place their son or daughter on the waiting lists for the age-appropriate ball program in Mapleton.
Waitlist registrations can be made for the daytime 3- to 5-year-old T-Ball baseball program, daytime 6- to 7-year-old coach pitch baseball program, evening Little League baseball program for 8- to 12-year-olds and Pony League baseball program for 13- to 16-year-olds.

Choral concert slated
The annual grades 3-5 spring choral concert will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 24. Parents, other family members and friends are welcome to attend.
