RUTH GERALDINE WILLIAMS, LITTLETON – Ruth Geraldine Williams, 96, died in the hope of her Savior, on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Madigan Estates. She was born on February 19, 1922, in Littleton, the daughter of Ellery H. and Muriel (Nason) Watson.
Ruth was raised in Littleton and attended the Harrigan School in Littleton and graduated from Ricker Classical Institute and from Ricker College with an Associates Degree in Classical Studies. She was married to Paul Cain from June 4, 1942, until his passing in 1956. Ruth then married James Williams in 1961. She worked for many different area businesses and was employed at Watson Well Drilling as a bookkeeper and secretary until her retirement at the age of 85. Ruth took up art in later years and loved painting and drawing. Ruth’s faith was very important to her and she was a longtime member of the Lake Road Freewill Baptist Church in Monticello, where she was the church clerk for sixty years. She also taught Sunday School and worked at St. John Valley Bible Camp in Hartland, NB.
She is survived by three children, Brenda Buza and her husband, Wayne, of Glenburn, Carla DeMerchant and her husband, Phillip, of Holmesville, NB, and Brian Cain and his wife, Ruth, of Littleton, a daughter-in-law, Joanne Cain of Holden; and grandchildren, Valerie, Stephen, Kevin, Marcia, Jonathan, Bethany, Kent, Paul, Christopher, Zachary, and Jessica, as well as several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her two husbands, Paul Cain and James Williams, a son, Clifford Cain, a brother, Lawrence Watson, and a sister, Iola Kneeland.
Friends called at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Lake Road Freewill Baptist Church in Monticello, where a funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m. with Pastor Phillip Smith officiating. Interment followed at Littleton Cemetery. The family invites relatives and friends to a reception at the church following the interment.
