Local Girl Scout volunteer Suzanne Beaudet of Presque Isle, center, recently earned a Thanks Badge, the highest adult award the organization gives. The award recognizes outstanding service to the entire council and Girl Scout organization. Beaudet, who is celebrating her 60th year as a Girl Scout, received the award from Girl Scouts of Maine representatives Dawn Walker-Elders, left, and Sue Boulay. Boulay cited Beaudet’s numerous achievements, including assistance at the Allagash River Run at Camp Natarswi, outdoor skills in Aroostook County, co-facilitating Troop Camp Training, parts 1 and 2, facilitating workshops at Sunshine for volunteers and sharing her knowledge at Camp Adventures for Grown Ups.
